Forest Fighting Fit were proud to attend the Woolston Carnival on 4 July, bringing our inclusive, community‑focused energy to one of the region’s most vibrant summer events. Our team spent the day promoting two of our most popular programmes — Strength Without Strain and Tai Chi classes — both designed to help people of all ages build confidence, mobility, and wellbeing in a safe, supportive environment.
💪 Strength Without Strain
Our Strength Without Strain demonstrations drew in families, older adults, and people completely new to exercise. The programme focuses on controlled movement, joint protection, and functional strength, making it ideal for beginners, those returning to fitness, and anyone managing long‑term health conditions. Visitors were able to try simple movements, ask questions, and learn how accessible strength training can be when delivered with care.
🧘 Tai Chi for Balance & Calm
Tai Chi proved to be one of the day’s highlights. Our instructors guided visitors through gentle flowing sequences, showing how Tai Chi supports balance, coordination, relaxation, and fall‑prevention. Many attendees commented on how calming and welcoming the session felt — a perfect fit for people looking to improve wellbeing without high‑impact exercise.
🤝 Community Engagement
Throughout the day, we spoke with dozens of families, older residents, and young people interested in joining our programmes. The carnival gave us a fantastic platform to share our message: movement should be accessible, enjoyable, and available to everyone, regardless of age, ability, or background.
🎉 A Successful Day for Forest Fighting Fit
Our presence at Woolston Carnival strengthened community connections, raised awareness of our inclusive classes, and highlighted the positive impact Forest Fighting Fit continues to make across the Forest of Dean and beyond.
Strength Without Strain
Staying active as we age is essential. Use it or lose it isn’t just a saying — it’s a reality many people only notice once everyday movements start to feel harder. The good news is that the right kind of exercise can rebuild confidence, strength, and ease of movement at any stage of life.
At Forest Fighting Fit, we focus on movement that feels good, supports your independence, and makes a real difference to your daily activities. We offer friendly assessments and guidance to help you choose the classes that suit your needs and goals.
We also run a highly effective Strength & Balance session every Friday at 9:15am in the FFF gym. If you prefer to join from home, the session is also available via Zoom.
Move well, feel stronger, and enjoy the benefits in everyday life — without strain.
