Forest Fighting Fit is delighted to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for the Sporting Venue of the Year at the Gloucestershire Lifestyle & Community Awards 2026, powered by SoGlos in partnership with Pro Global and Made in Gloucestershire.

This recognition means a great deal to our volunteerโ€‘run club and reflects the passion, hard work, and community spirit that drive everything we do.

Congratulations to Forest Fighting Fit Boxing and Fitness who were awarded a £1,000 grant from the Asda Foundation.

This will help them to continue to offer a diverse range of combat sports and fitness classes to suit everyone. Their programs include kickboxing, boxing, Thai boxing, tai chi (perfect for older active adults), and dance and movement sessions designed for adults with disabilities. Congratulations to Michelle (pictured) and the team.

A Huge Thank You from Forest Fighting Fit!

We’re thrilled to announce that Forest Fighting Fit has been awarded £1,000 through Tesco’s Stronger Starts Blue Token Scheme — and it’s all thanks to YOU!

Your support, your tokens, and your belief in our mission to improve children’s health and fitness have made this possible. Every token dropped in our name was a vote for stronger, healthier futures — and we couldn’t be more grateful.

This funding will go directly toward helping young people in our community get active, build confidence, and discover the power of fitness in a fun, supportive environment at our gym.

Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing in our cause. And thank you for helping us make a real difference.

Let’s keep fighting fit — together!

Forest Fighting Fit is a grassroots community group offering fitness, food, and wellbeing sessions for all ages. We tackle isolation, promote healthy living, and create inclusive spaces where people can thrive.

  • Children enjoy weekly fitness classes and nourishing snacks at our Wednesday food nights.

  • Young people (11+) can earn AQA Unit Award qualifications to boost confidence, school performance, and job prospects.

  • Adults benefit from sessions that build strength, connection, and mental wellbeing.

๐Ÿค How We Bring People Together

Our Wednesday night programme is more than just exercise — it’s a safe, welcoming space where children and young people connect, grow, and feel valued. Through accredited learning and community support, we help every participant build skills, friendships, and pride that last far beyond our sessions.

A big thank you to the students at SGS Forest High School who took part in our Your View Your Voice (YVYV) programme on Tuesday - a multi-agency initiative dedicated to preventing violence against women and girls.
45 students from Year 10 attended the sessions, which included a high-energy self-defence session for female students led by Forest Fighting Fit Boxing and Fitness ๐Ÿ‘Š.
Male students joined the Hollie Gazzard Trust for workshop called 'Rethinking Masculinity', exploring topics such as the expectations and pressures placed on men, and how stereotypes can influence behaviour and relationships .
All of the young people also took part in Active Bystander training, developing the skills to recognise when situations could escalate and how and when to intervene safely and effectively.
YVYV is a programme for young people that aims to help prevent violence against women and girls - crimes such as rape, stalking, domestic abuse and ‘revenge porn’ that disproportionately affect women and girls. Thanks to everyone who took part in this important training ๐Ÿ‘.
